Consolidating flight operations at KLIA2 made business sense for low-cost carrier AirAsia.

THERE were many unhappy travellers when AirAsia decided to pull out of Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, better known as Subang Airport, ceasing its domestic operations there effective April 7.

Among the reasons cited for the move, barely seven months after the carrier commenced jet operations at the city airport, was the ability to streamline costs by consolidating operations at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA2).
