TAS Offshore revenue rises to RM55mil


The shipbuilding firm said it is well-positioned to benefit from the rising demand for tugboats.

PETALING JAYA: TAS Offshore Bhd remains optimistic about its prospects going forward, underpinned by its ability to sustain its growth momentum with a strong order book.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the shipbuilding firm said it is well-positioned to benefit from the rising demand for tugboats, where more than 90% of its contracts on hand are from Indonesia.

For the second quarter ended Nov 30, 2024, net profit rose to RM9.4mil from RM4.52mil in the previous corresponding period, driven by improved performance of its shipbuilding activities where more vessels were completed and delivered to customers during the quarter.

Revenue rose to RM54.51mil from RM28.41mil a year earlier. Basic earnings per share stood at 5.26 sen versus 2.53 sen previously.

For the six-month period ended Nov 30, 2024, TAS Offshore’s net profit surged to RM15.37mil from RM4.44mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue grew to RM98.82mil from RM33.24mil a year earlier.
