Sunway Group appoints Mohd Anuar Taib as deputy president


KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Group has appointed Datuk Mohd Anuar Taib (pic) as deputy president with effect from Jan 2, 2025.

Anuar, who has served on the board of Sunway as an independent non-executive director since July 7, 2023, will oversee the group's core businesses including Sunway Property, Sunway Malls and Sunway Healthcare, among others.

“Datuk Anuar is a highly respected corporate leader with deep experience on the boards of publicly listed companies and vast expertise spanning national, regional and global markets.”

“His appointment marks a significant milestone in Sunway’s evolution and reflects our commitment to prepare the Group for future challenges with a leader who embodies the vision and values of our diverse conglomerate,” said group founder and chairman Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah in a statement.

Anuar was most recently Group CEO at Sapura Energy Bhd, where he navigated through one of the largest corporate debt restructuring exercises in Malaysia, turning around the organisation’s strategic, operational and capability building performance as well as streamlining its global footprint.
