Uzma secures RM44.15mil solar PV plant project in Kedah


KUALA LUMPUR: Uzma Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, Uzma Environergy Sdn Bhd (UENV), has secured a contract worth RM44.15mil solar photovoltaic (PV) plant project in Kedah from Samaiden Sdn Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Uzma said the contract is for a 13.42MWac solar PV plant located in Sungai Petani, Kedah to be developed under the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) administered by the Energy Commission.

“The scope of the works comprises the development of the solar generating facility, including the power generation company’s (Genco) interconnection facility, interconnector, and the Genco works as defined in the connection agreement entered into between Tenaga Nasional Bhd and the Genco,” Uzma said.

The contract duration is eight months and 14 days, with the scheduled commercial operation date set for August 30, 2025.
