Scientex 1Q earnings at RM129mil


PETALING JAYA: Scientex Bhd sees long-term opportunities in the flexible packaging industry, supported by its capacity and capabilities to innovate and develop customised value-added packaging solutions.

In the first quarter ended Oct 31, 2024, Scientex posted a lower net profit of RM128.6mil, or an earnings per share of 8.29 sen compared with RM137.8mil or 8.89 sen in the year-ago quarter. Its revenue was flat at RM1.11bil.

Scientex shareholders have also approved a final dividend of six sen per share in respect of financial year 2024 (FY24), with the ex-date set for Jan 7, 2025 and the payment date on Jan 17, 2025.

Including the earlier interim dividend of six sen per share, the total dividend for FY24 is 12 sen per share.

This amounts to a total payout of RM186.5mil, representing 34.2% of the group’s FY24 net profit.
