KUALA LUMPUR: Proton achieved sales of 12,194 units in November, a slight decrease of 4.7% from the previous month, in line with a drop in overall Malaysian automotive sales.
The national car maker said its year-to-date sales volume rose to 137,751, cementing its position as the country's second most popular car brand.
In November, the Proton X70 reclaimed the top stop in C-segment SUV sales, increasing 7.7% month-on-month to 1,065 units for a year-to-date total of 7,536 units.
The Proton X90 remained the market leader for the D-Segment SUV with a 13.1% increase to 277 units, for a year-to-date total of 3,246 units.
Meanwhile, the Proton S70 led sedan segment with 1,312 units sold in November for year-to-date sales of 17,512.
The brand's most popular SUV, the Proton X50, sold 1,911 units in Novmber for a total sales of 21,033 units year-to-date.
Proton Edar CEO Roslan Abdullah said the carmaker is gearing up to drive year-end sales in the final month of 2024.
"Our commitment to delivering quality vehicles is evident in the continued success of models such as the Proton X70, Proton X90 and Proton Saga, which have all achieved significant milestones this year.
"With the much-anticipated Proton e.MAS 7 launch to come on Dec 16 along with commendable export growth and a focus on innovation, we are confident that Proton will continue to lead the way in the automotive industry, both domestically and internationally," he said.
With regards to Proton's exports, it said cumulative sales currently stand at 3,652 units as compared to a total figure of 3,636 last year.
