GEORGE TOWN: Nationgate Holdings Bhd (NationGate) has launched its latest artificial intelligence (AI) server.

Its general manager Ooi Yeuan Xiong said the NH8230 server would ensure its customers keep up with the times and lead the way.

"We aim to create jobs, foster innovation, and build a sustainable future for generations to come,” he said at the launch here which Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong officiated.

Also present were Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching, Penang exco member H’ng Mooi Lye and NationGate managing director Datuk Ooi Eng Leong.

Ooi said the move into manufacturing AI servers would open doors for NationGate to expand its customer base locally and across the region as it goes into Al-related services, capitalising on the double digit percentage expansion per annum in data centre investments in Asean and globally. He said NationGate can provide a one-stop service for Al servers while supporting the localisation agenda.

"NationGate's strategic leap into Al and data centres underscores its commitment towards advancing technology while fostering local innovation and economic growth by contributing towards supply chain investments and high-skilled employment opportunities which are essential to remain competitive in this fast-paced industry," he said.

Meanwhile, Teo said steps taken by NationGate in producing advanced AI servers demonstrate the technical expertise and ambition of Malaysian companies, positioning the nation as a key player in advancing AI technology.

"Malaysia holds several key advantages that position us ahead of our regional counterparts in attracting technology investments, including our strategic location, well-developed infrastructure and the forward-looking policies of the MADANI Government.

"NationGate’s venture into AI server manufacturing is a timely and significant move that complements this momentum. With data centre capacity projected to grow at a compound annual rate of nearly 20% through 2028, Malaysia is well on its way to establishing itself as a leader in AI technology and innovation,” she said. - Bernama
