Sirim CEO appointed as WAITRO regional representative for 2025/26 term

KUALA LUMPUR: Sirim Bhd’s president and group CEO Datuk Indera Ahmad Sabirin Arshad has been appointed as the regional representative for Asia and the Pacific on the WAITRO executive board for the 2025/26 term.

In a statement, Sirim said the appointment was confirmed during the 27th WAITRO General Assembly held in Nanjing, China.

Elected by the General Assembly for two years, WAITRO executive board members volunteer to guide the association’s work. They meet twice a year to set goals, support global partnerships, and ensure WAITRO’s programmes promote innovation and sustainable development.

“Ahmad Sabirin’s new role signifies an opportunity to strengthen regional partnerships, enhance innovation efforts, and promote SIRIM’s expertise on an international platform.

“By working collaboratively across borders, Sirim and its global counterparts will contribute to a vibrant innovation ecosystem that drives transformative technologies and creates lasting, sustainable impacts for societies and economies worldwide,” Sirim said.
