SapuraOMV delivers first gas from Jerun platform in Malaysia

Jerun gas field was discovered in 2015, under the SK408 PSC.

KUALA LUMPUR: SapuraOMV Upstream Sdn Bhd has commenced gas production from its Jerun field in Malaysia, under the SK408 production sharing contract (PSC).

In a statement, SapuraOMV said the Jerun gas field was discovered in 2015 and the development project arrived at its final investment decision (FID) in March 2021.

“The Jerun platform is designed to produce up to 550 million cubic feet of gas per day, with condensate production of 15,000 barrels per day during peak production.

“The gas will be evacuated through a new 80 kilometres pipeline into the E11RB production hub, for onward delivery to Malaysia LNG terminal in Bintulu,” it said.

Under the stewardship of Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), PETRONAS, SapuraOMV is committed to delivering safe, reliable and sustainable gas supply to its customers within the Asia Pacific region while maintaining stringent safety standards across its operations.
