G Capital commissions solar plant


PETALING JAYA: G Capital Bhd has commissioned a 2,000 kWp rooftop solar power generation system at Chin Herr Industries (M) Sdn Bhd’s premises in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.

The plant, built by Solarcity Malaysia Sdn Bhd, will be contributing revenue to G Capital over the next 25 years effective July 2, the commercial operation date.

Solarcity is 70%-owned by G Capital. Chin Herr is a wholly-owned unit of Main Market-listed Chin Well Holdings Bhd.

With the completion of the plant, Solarcity has to-date completed and commissioned a total of 25 MWp of solar photovoltaic systems through power purchase agreements (PPAs) to its clients.

Notably, Solarcity has fulfilled a total of 4.38 MWp PPA for Chin Well Group, including a 2.38 MWp solar PV system powered up on Nov 15, 2022 for another subsidiary of Chin Well.
