KPJ undertakes RM18mil renovation jobs

KUALA LUMPUR: KPJ Healthcare Bhd will undertake renovation works on two floors of the KPJ Bandar Dato Onn Specialist Hospital for RM18.3mil in a related party transaction.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the hospital operator said it had issued a letter of acceptance to Tg Langsat Development Sdn Bhd, which is an indirect subsidiary of Johor Corp, for the renovation works of the eighth and ninth floors of the hospital.

The proposed renovation works comprises the addition of new wards for 30 beds of 22,900 sq ft on the two floors.

“They would facilitate the expansion from 90 beds to 150 beds. As the hospital is currently operating at 80% capacity thus limiting its potential future growth,” it said.

The hospital, which began operations in February 2019, is in Johor Baru.
