Sulaiman Mohd Tahir appointed Bank Pembangunan chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd has appointed Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir as its new chairman and independent non-executive director from March 20, 2024.

In a statement, the bank said Sulaiman brings with him a wealth of senior leadership experiences spanning more than three decades in the Malaysian financial landscape, including his recent tenure as group CEO at AmBank Group.

“Bank Pembangunan plays a pivotal role in national development over the last 50 years. I am privileged to have the opportunity to serve such a great institution and to be able to contribute to this country,” said Sulaiman.

Roni Abdulwahab, group CEO of Bank Pembangunan, said: "On behalf of the management, we would like to extend our warmest welcome to Datuk Sulaiman.

"His leadership and guidance as chairman will be instrumental in steering Bank Pembangunan towards achieving our strategic objectives and promoting sustainable growth, as we deliver impact capital for national development. We look forward to working with him.”
