MCE unit bags contract for Proton parts supply


KUALA LUMPUR: MCE Holdings Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary Multi-Code Electronics Industries (M) Bhd has secured contracts to supply electronic and mechatronics parts for a Proton car model.

In a bourse filing, the group said the supply of the parts is expected to commence in the second quarter of the financial year ending July 31, 2025, for a duration of 84 months.

"The project is expected to generate total revenue of approximately RM55.19mil for MCE Group over the 84-month period whilst the estimated total investment cost is RM650,000," it said.

In a separate filing, MCE announced a net profit of RM4.52mil in the second quarter ended Jan 31, 2024, which was slightly higher than RM4.25mil in the same quarter in the previous year.

The group recorded an earnings per share of 5.49 sen as compared to 7.57 sen in the comparative quarter.

Revenue, meanwhile, was RM40.05mil against RM39.13mil in 2QFY23.

Over the six-month period, the group's net profit was RM9.4mil against RM7.75mil in 1HFY23 while revenue was RM81.33mil as compared to RM77.68mil in the year-ago period.
