Higher median wages crucial


"If we look at Malaysia and Singapore as a single labour market, we need to pay them better and some of them will come back here,” Liew said.

PETALING JAYA: The government would like to raise wages to a level that is significantly higher from the present levels so Malaysia can compete with its regional peers in attracting the right talent.

Apart from formulating the right policies, this could be aided by the recent interest among investors to the country, said Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti) Minister Liew Chin Tong.
