PETALING JAYA: Maxis Bhd has collaborated with smart scooter provider Blueshark and the operator of the JomCharge charging network, EV Connection Sdn Bhd (EVC), to provide 4G and 5G network connectivity solutions.

This initiative aims to address the e-mobility needs of both the latter companies, covering their electric vehicle (EV) assets and infrastructure.

Maxis inked memoranda of understanding with both Blueshark and EVC at the E-Mobility Asia (EMA) 2023 exhibition yesterday, with the aim of accelerating the adoption of e-mobility solutions.

In a statement, the telco said it will also explore innovative digital solutions with both parties to accelerate the application of new technologies within the EV ecosystem.

“As a start, Maxis will develop an environmental, social and governance dashboard to help Blueshark customers measure and analyse their carbon footprint through their electric scooters,” Maxis noted.

It said the dashboard will leverage on its end-to-end capabilities, spanning cloud, data analytics and Internet of Things (IoT).

Maxis’ 4G and 5G networks will provide essential connectivity for Blueshark’s fleet, ensuring secure and reliable data collection for the dashboard with full Application Programming Interface integration.

Additionally, Maxis plans to extend network connectivity to Blueshark’s battery swap stations across Malaysia, facilitating the analysis and management of their battery inventory.

Maxis chief enterprise business officer Prateek Pashine said as an integrated telco, the group possessed the right capabilities to comprehensively meet the needs of smart mobility businesses.

“We look forward to powering EV technologies and innovation through our enterprise solutions including loT, cloud, managed services, 4G and 5G connectivity,” he said.
