PETRONAS Chemicals expects continued headwinds in 2H23

KUALA LUMPUR: The headwinds continue to blow for Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd after a quarter of "extreme external challenges", said the petrochemicals firm as it anticipates margins to remain under pressure.

"We still have to contend with higher operating costs, slowing global economic growth and increased competition from new capacities coming on stream, particularly in China and the US," said PETRONAS Chemicals managing director and CEO Mohd Yusri Mohamed Yusof in a statement.
