Suparadi made MRC chairman

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC) has appointed Datuk Seri Mohamad Suparadi Md Noor as chairman of the council’s board of trustees.

In a statement, MRC said the appointment comes at a critical time of the global rubber industry, which is facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“His strategic leadership and industry knowledge will play a pivotal role in navigating these complex dynamics, ensuring the continued growth and prosperity of the Malaysian rubber sector,” it said.

Mohamad Suparadi was chairman of Tekun Nasional in 2018 and served as Iris Corp Bhd executive director from 2004 to 2009 and was Yayasan Hijrah Selangor’s executive director in 2021.

He is currently DSN Group executive chairman, a conglomerate involved in various industries such as wellness, investment, agriculture, dairy farming, properties, and food and beverage.

The MRC, formerly known as the Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council, was established on April 14, 2000 under the Companies Act 1965 as a company limited by guarantee under the Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry.

It is responsible for promoting quality Malaysian rubber and rubber products in international markets.

It is governed by a board of trustees appointed by the Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister.
