Nurjesmi appointed CEO of Affin Hwang Investment Bank


PETALING JAYA: Affin Group has appointed Nurjesmi Mohd Nashir as the new chief executive officer of Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd, effective June 1, 2023.

Nurjesmi brings with him more than 20 years of experience within the banking industry and capital markets.

Prior to joining Affin Hwang, Nurjesmi was an executive director, head of global corporate bank at JP Morgan Chase Bank Bhd.

He started his career in the brokerage industry as equity analyst at Maybank Securities and subsequently at Arab-Malaysian Securities Sdn Bhd from 1994 until 1996.

He then joined Citibank’’s small and medium business division in 1996; had a number of positions in corporate banking and was subsequently appointed head of the public sector, where he primarily oversaw the portfolio of government-linked companies until 2013.

Nurjesmi’s appointment will steer Affin Hwang into the next stage of growth, expanding on its accomplishments and ensuring that the bank continually “Out Think. Out Perform” for its clients.
