Effective energy policy needs continuous monitoring

Normadiana: We need to factor in energy security as over dependence on a certain energy source may bring our economy to a halt, as observed in some countries that overly relied on imported fuel.

PETALING JAYA: Continuous monitoring and proper implementation of the relevant initiatives are key to ensuring an effective energy policy in the country.

Ernst & Young PLT senior executive director, strategy and transactions Normadiana Mansor said the new National Energy Policy (NEP) launched in September 2022 is a comprehensive policy that sets the tone for the development of the country’s plan towards being a low-carbon nation by 2040.
