MBSB Bank, CelcomDigi explore collaboration to develop smart banking solutions

KUALA LUMPUR: MBSB Bank Bhd and CelcomDigi are exploring opportunities in end-to-end smart banking solutions that include comprehensive services for cyber security, smart retail solutions financing, and cloud infrastructure technology.

Additionally, both companies intend to collaborate on finding new commercial opportunities and joint go-to-market activities that will benefit their customers and employees.

In a statement, the Islamic bank said it had inked a memorandum of understanding with the country's largest telecommunications company as part of its digitalisation journey to future-proof its banking operations and enrich customer experiences.

MBSB group CEO Datuk Nor Azam M Taib said the industry has become increasingly competitive due to technological advances.

"We plan to establish industrial IoT solutions as part of the business financing, focusing on green tech adoption, automation and quality assurance.

"We also intend to leverage on cloud technology in order to advance our digital capabilities as this shall help to increase our competitiveness level," he said.

CelcomDigi CEO Datuk Mohammad Idham Nawawi added that it looks forward to unlocking more synergistic value and innovation from the partnership while supporting the nation's digital agenda.
