Raja Teh Maimunah appointed as CEO of Aeon’s digital bank

KUALA LUMPUR: Aeon Consortium has appointed Raja Teh Maimunah Raja Abdul Aziz as chief executive officer effective Dec 1.

Prior to joining the consortium, Raja Teh was the managing director of wholesale banking at AmBank Group.

“I am pleased to welcome Raja Teh as the chief executive officer of our digital bank. We are confident that her leadership skills, coupled with extensive banking experience especially in Islamic Finance and her passion for digital banking, she together with the team will be able to build the next Malaysia’s digital banking landscape,” AeonCredit Service (M) Bhd managing director Daisuke Maeda said in a statement.

Aeon Consortium is one of the five consortiums to have been awarded a digital bank licence by the Finance Ministry and Bank Negara.

The digital bank is expected to launch by end of next year.

Additionally, Raja Teh is a chartered banker and a chartered professional in islamic finance (CPIF).

She also sits on the board of Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) and its board risk and integrity committees as well as the Board of Trustees of Amanah Warisan Negara (AWAN).
