BATU KAWAN: Indium Corp, a United States-based global materials supplier to the electronics assembly and semiconductor packaging industries, has expanded its operations by setting up a new facility at Batu Kawan Industrial Park (BKIP) to better serve its customers in this region.

President and chief operating officer Ross Berntson said the 37,500-sq-ft facility will produce a diverse range of solders and solder paste products, including materials for the electronics assembly, e-mobility, power electronics and advanced packaging for the semiconductor market.

“Strategically located in BKIP, the facility will create about 100 job opportunities,” he told reporters at the opening ceremony of the facility, which was officiated by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow. — Bernama
