EY resigns as IWCity’s auditor

KUALA LUMPUR: Iskandar Waterfront City Bhd (IWCity) has received a notice in writing from its auditor, Messrs Ernst & Young PLT (EY) on their resignation.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, IWC said EY’s term of office will end after 21 days from Sept 27.

IWCity said EY was re-appointed as auditors of the company at the last annual general meeting (AGM) of the company held on June 30 and to hold office until the conclusion of the next AGM.

“The resignation is on a voluntary basis and is in line with good corporate governance for the company to revisit the appointment of auditors of the company from time to time,” IWCity said.

“Save for the above, the board is not aware of any other matters that need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of IWCity,” it added.

The company will identify and appoint new auditors to fill the casual vacancy pursuant to Section 271(2)(b) of the Companies Act 2016.
