KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit fell back to its lowest level since Januray 2017 against the US dollar as the greenback rallied to hit a 20-year high against major currencies after US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chair Jerome Powell emphasised that higher interest rates will likely continue for some time.
The remarks came amid signs that the world's largest economy’s inflation has not shown any marked signs of a downward trend.
