Proton unveils new hi-tech assembly line

TANJUNG MALIM: National carmaker Proton Holdings Bhd has unveiled its new hi-tech engine assembly line that is capable of producing the 1.5 turbo gasoline direct injection engines for the local and export markets.

Located at Proton Tanjung Malim’s engine and powertrain facility and part of the RM1.8bil earmarked by Proton to upgrade its facilities in Tanjung Malim, Perak, the assembly line covers an area of 18,000 sq m and has a current maximum capacity of 180,000 engines when running on three shifts. — Bernama
