KUALA TERENGGANU: A total of 2,000 entrepreneurs are expected to directly benefit from a business digitisation programme implemented by the Terengganu state government in collaboration with telecommunications company, Maxis, this year.

Terengganu Tourism, Culture and Digital Technology Committee chairman Ariffin Deraman said for a start, a total of 120 entrepreneurs have been selected to attend an e-entrepreneurship class with Maxis, which covered segments such as webinars and digital marketing workshops.

"As a digital strategic partner, Maxis will offer its products and services including comprehensive business solutions for e-commerce entrepreneurs and industry 4.0 related companies operating in Terengganu.

"The state government, through Terengganu Digital 1303 (TD1303), will guide entrepreneurs who are interested in the digitisation programme to take full advantage of the facilities provided by Maxis, including applying for digital business grants with various attractive packages,” he told reporters after officiating the launching ceremony of the Maxis and TD1303 collaboration, here, today.

Also in attendance were Terengganu State Secretary Datuk Tengku Farok Hussin Tengku Abdul Jalil and Maxis chief executive officer Gokhan Ogut.

TD1303 is an agency under Menteri Besar Incorporated which is a one-stop centre for entrepreneurs in Terengganu.

The agency is equipped with various facilities such as meeting rooms, event rooms, computer rooms, seminar rooms equipped with public speaking facilities (projectors, wireless microphones, speakers) and "hot desks” (workplace system) with a daily rental rate as low as RM10.

Ariffin, who is also TD1303 chairman, said the cooperation would drive more vigorous economic development in Terengganu as entrepreneurs would be exposed to digital marketing, photography and advertising skills through online platforms and social media.

"Maxis will also offer various business packages suitable for entrepreneurs at cheaper rates and the TD1303 will be a facilitator for both parties,” he said. - Bernama
