KUALA LUMPUR: TH Heavy Engineering Bhd (THHE), a subsidiary of Urusharta Jamaah Sdn Bhd has entered into a strategic collaboration with Tellus Asia Sdn Bhd and Enigma Technical Solutions Sdn Bhd to jointly undertake shipbuilding and ship repair projects, as well as in-support services for the maritime sector.
THHE chief executive officer Ahmad Yusof Mohamad said the extensive technical and operational experience of Tellus Asia and Enigma would unlock further value for its business and contribute to driving the development of the maritime industry in Malaysia.
“In addition, building on Tellus Asia and Enigma’s proven track record, the collaboration is set to open up prospects for THHE over the long-term.
“With all parties bringing complementary sets of expertise, we look forward to tapping into each other’s potential to leverage on new opportunities.
“Through knowledge sharing and technology transfer, we will also be well-positioned to contribute to the development of a strong talent pool for the nation, while spurring the adoption of advanced technology and innovation in line with the aspirations of the 12th Malaysia Plan,” he added.
As part of the agreement, THHE, Tellus Asia and Enigma will explore areas of collaboration, with a clear mapping of roles and obligations, including either entering into a definitive agreement to implement the collaboration or by setting up a joint venture company to undertake the potential projects.
