MAHB expects steady passenger-traffic recovery

“Malaysia and the Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (SGIA) recorded 2.5 million and 2.1 million passenger movements respectively with both operations equally contributing to the growth in February. “It is encouraging to note that there was an uptick in Malaysia and Istanbul SGIA daily traffic passenger movements for February compared with January, indicating traffic regaining momentum after a temporary setback,” MAHB added.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB) expects passenger traffic to recover steadily over the next few months as more countries reopen their borders.

In a statement yesterday, MAHB said its network of airports recorded 4.7 million passenger movements in February, despite the month having fewer days than other months. It also marked the fifth consecutive month of sustaining passenger movements above the four-million level since October 2021.
