Plans to upskill EV technicians

SDM managing director of retail and distribution Jeffrey Gan said its technicians have already acquired a strong knowledge base and hands-on experience from the training provided by its world-class principals.

PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Motors (SDM) has teamed up with TOC Automotive College to establish programmes to upskill electric vehicle (EV) technicians servicing global automotive brands represented by the company.

The automotive arm of Sime Darby Bhd said in a statement that this was part of its efforts to unlock opportunities for local talents in the automotive sector. The training by TOC Automotive College will supplement the EV service and maintenance training received from SDM’s brand principals, including BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mini and Volvo.
