Bank Negara and all banks in KL to remain open on Dec 3


KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara has announced that the central bank and all banks, including branch operations, in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur will be open and operating as usual on Dec 3.

In a statement Thursday, the central bank said financial market transactions in the foreign exchange, money, and over-the-counter (OTC) bond markets will continue to function as usual.

On Wednesday, Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim announced that Dec 3 will be a public holiday for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan. The special holiday was to celebrate Kuala Lumpur FC (KL City) winning the Malaysia Cup on Tuesday.
