WASHINGTON: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved nearly US$600mil (RM2.49bil) in emergency lending for Tanzania’s health system and economic-recovery efforts as the nation battles the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
The fund’s executive board approved a total of US$567mil (RM2.36bil) in funds – US$189mil (RM785.82mil) under the Rapid Credit Facility and US$378mil (RM1.57bil) under the Rapid Financing Instrument.
