Unisem expects performance boost amid semiconductor recovery

KUALA LUMPUR: Unisem (M) Bhd anticipates a modest improvement in its performance for the next financial quarter, despite the sluggish pace of recovery in the broader semiconductor industry.

This optimism stems from increasing demand for the group's products and services in specific market segments such as power management/AI, automotive/EV, and premium Chinese and US flagship smartphones.

In the first quarter ended March 31, Unisem posted a lower net profit of RM8.5mil, or earnings per share of 0.52 sen against RM9.8mil, or 0.61 sen posted a year ago.

Revenue, however, was higher at RM364.8mil versus RM354.05mil achieved last year.

Unisem has declared a first interim dividend of 2.0 sen per share, single-tier for the current financial year ending Dec 31, 2024. The dividend will be paid on July 5.
