Ahmad Nazim appointed LTAT CEO


Datuk Ahmad Nazim Abdul Rahman has been appointed as chief executive officer of Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT).

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Ahmad Nazim Abdul Rahman has been appointed as chief executive officer of Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) and it takes effect on Tuesday.

The armed forces fund said on Monday Nazim is taking over Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin who stepped down on April 30 to serve as the new group managing director and CEO of Lembaga Tabung Haji.

LTAT chairman, General Datuk Seri di-Raja Tan Sri Mohd. Zahidi Zainuddin (retired) said LTAT looked forward to his leadership of LTAT.

“In his role, Nazim will lead the transformation initiatives and steer LTAT towards a sustainable and competitive retirement fund for its stakeholders.

“We are confident that his broad experience in corporate and financial sectors in major financial centres around the world would bring fresh perspectives to LTAT and ensure a successful execution of its transformation, ” Zahidi said,

Nazim has 20 years of professional experience in the areas in corporate management, corporate finance and investment.

Prior to joining LTAT, he was based in Singapore and United Arab Emirates as managing director for Southeast Asia of Allied Investment Partners, an investment and advisory firm.

Nazim served as CEO of Pelaburan MARA Berhad from 2013 to 2018 and was a pioneering member of the Board of National Bank of Abu Dhabi (Malaysia) Bhd.

He has served as member of the boards of financial institutions, listed companies and public agencies.

He is currently a member of the boards of Energy Commission Malaysia, Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional, Omesti Bhd and Regulus Advisors Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based private equity fund.

He studied economics and public policy at Sciences Po in Paris and was a J. William Fulbright Scholar at Georgetown University where he received his Master of Laws.

He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the International Islamic University Malaysia.

Zahidi and the board of LTAT also extended their gratitude to Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi, chief financial officer for his leadership and contribution while serving as the cover post chief executive, performing the duties of the chief executive beginning May 3, 2021 after the departure of Amrin.

Established in August 1972 by the Tabung Angkatan Tentera Act 1973 (Act 101), LTAT is a government statutory body that provides benefits for officers and members of other ranks of the Malaysian Armed Forces and volunteer forces to save for their retirement

LTAT is managing close to RM9.70bil of assets under management (AUM) as of April 2021.

Its investment portfolio spanning across various industries such as property development, plantation, pharmaceutical, banking, financial trading as well as heavy industries
