Challenges ahead for MAHB

Passenger traffic at all of MAHB’s airports is expected to fall further in the second half of this year if the situation does not improve and borders remain closed even while the vaccination programme is in progress.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd’s (MAHB) losses for the financial year 2021 (FY21) are expected to be larger than earlier estimated with the continued rise in Covid-19 cases, which has pushed passenger traffic down.

The recent imposition of the movement control order (MCO) 3.0 is also seen as a dampener but it is, notably, something that is needed to restrict movement to combat further spikes in Covid-19 cases and the growing threat of new variants.
