Touch 'n Go removes parking surcharge from 94% locations nationwide

KUALA LUMPUR: Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd has removed the parking surcharge in 94% of its sites across the country.

Out of 662 parking sites that accept Touch ‘n Go cards as payments, 620 have since removed the 10% surcharge.

“We are well on our target (100%) and we will get it done as soon as possible,” group chief executive officer Effendy Shahul Hamid said.

Meanwhile, PayDirect, a function that allows drivers to pass through tolls as usual with their Touch ‘n Go cards but toll fares deducted from their eWallets instead, has since been expanded to parking.

The feature is now available at six parking sites in the Klang Valley and Penang.

“We are looking to expand the PayDirect service opportunistically in line with demand, especially into parking,” he said.

On Touch ‘n Go’s RFID adoption on highways, Effendy said they are working with the highways’ concessionaire partners to enable RFID tolling nationwide by the end of the year.
