Full recovery of MAHB earnings beyond 2021

MIDF believed full recovery for MAHB, and by extension the aviation industry in Malaysia, will not be feasible in FY2021. It forecast it to be beyond 2021.

PETALING JAYA: Lower passenger volumes and slower retail trade led by the Covid-19 pandemic will continue to cause weaknesses in Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd’s (MAHB) earnings in the near term.

Consumer confidence in air travel is key and analysts expect that even with the discovery of vaccines, it will take time before things return to normality as safety remains a priority for travellers.
