PETALING JAYA: Back for its sixth consecutive year, the StarProperty Awards for 2021 has upped the ante more than ever before.

The awards, which pay homage to premier real estate developers and the developments for challenging the boundaries of innovation, architecture and functionality, will see more categories as well as the return of the coveted All-Stars Awards.

The judging panel comprises captains of the Malaysian real estate industry and national leaders of various disciplines, including architecture, real estate investment trusts, geomancy sciences, landscape architecture, sustainable building, interior design, real-estate-related services and businesses.

The awards will also give reverence to stakeholders of the tourism sector with which the hospitality industry, and hotels, in particular, are affiliated.

Among the first of the property developers to participate in next year’s prestigious awards is I-Bhd, the master developer behind the RM10bil i-City Selangor Golden Triangle (SGT) project.

The development in Selangor’s capital city has planned to become one of Malaysia’s latest masterpiece that pushes the boundaries in property development. I-Bhd is vying for the Proximity Award for Best Integrated Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), and SA Architects director Tony Mak is confident that i-City SGT’s masterplan design, will fulfil all the criteria of the award.

SA Architects is the master architect for the transformation of i-City SGT.

“Located on the Selangor growth corridor along the Port Klang-Shah Alam commercial, industrial and residential zones, it is visioned that i-City SGT shall become an active urban oasis, a new landmark city that contains advanced urban necessity such as office blocks, hospitality, retail and urban habitat, ” said Mak.

This award category will go to the transit-oriented development that epitomises the work, play, live and learn concept and is built with a choice selection of amenities within the neighbourhood’s walkability range.

Separately, the i-City SGT showcase, involving world technology industry leaders scheduled from Oct 1-4,2020 at Central i-City, has been postponed to Oct 28-Nov 1,2020.

The StarProperty Awards 2020 saw 25 categories, which were featured alongside The Consumers’ Choice Award and the All-Stars Award, with a further three awards recognising the strides made in the local hotel scene.

Entries for the 2021 awards will close on Dec 1,2020.
