Tengku Zafrul’s baptism of fire


Former colleagues in the banking sector remembers Tengku Zafrul(pic) for being there to help them overcome barriers and open doors when they have problems in seeing through corporate deals.

TENGKU Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz was once in the running for the position of the chief executive of Malayan Banking Bhd, the largest financial institution in the country.

He was not chosen and later moved on to head CIMB Group, which is the third largest banking institution in the country. Now he is the Finance Minister, over-seeing Bank Negara which, in turn, controls all the banks in Malaysia.
