TNB chairman Leo Moggie retires, Treasury sec-gen Ahmad Badri to succeed


KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has announced that it long-serving chairman Tan Sri Leo Moggie has retired effective March 12.

Former minister Leo Moggie, 78, was first appointed to the post in 2004. Last year, his contract was extended for one-year until March 11.

He will be succeeded by Treasury secretary general Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir.

"The board, with concurrence of the special shareholder, Minister of Finance Inc, approved the appointment for a period of three years with effect from March 12, 2020 to March 11, 2023," the company said in a filing today.

Ahmad Badri, 59, is a current director at TNB.
