PETALING JAYA: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has been named “Most Attractive Employer in Malaysia” for 2019 by human resources solutions agency Randstad – for the second time.
Taking second and third place were Shell Malaysia and Nestlé Malaysia, the agency said in a statement. Other homegrown brands among the top 10 on the list were AirAsia Bhd and Sime Darby Bhd
.
“When companies invest to foster a workplace that inspires and empowers their employees to take pride in the work they do, the workforce will be more engaged through the enriching experience that they receive.
“We look forward to seeing more companies focus on strengthening their employer brand to improve the quality of their relationship with their workforce, ” Randstad Singapore and Malaysia managing director Jaya Dass said.
This is the fourth year the agency is presenting the Randstad Employer Brand Awards in Malaysia. The winners, it said, were selected from the 75 largest commercial companies to work for in Malaysia (based on workforce size).
The awards are presented to the top-three commercial companies that receive the highest attractiveness scores in the Employer Brand Research.
Petronas senior vice-president of group human resource management, Datuk Raiha Azni Abd Rahman, said the company continued to place importance on diversity and inclusion to foster a conducive workplace environment for its employees.
Recent efforts, she said, included the implementation of flexible work arrangements, workplace redesign, enhanced benefits and use of digital technologies.
“People are the heart of our business. As an organisation, we truly value our employees and are committed to delivering positive experiences throughout the employment journey as a means to attract, motivate and retain our employees, ” she said in the statement.
Other companies that made it into the top-10 are Intel Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd, IBM Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Huawei Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd and Sony EMCS (M) Sdn Bhd.
The 2019 Randstad Employer Brand Research explores workers’ perception of employer brands, providing an understanding of employee and job seeker drivers.
The research provides insights from about 200,000 respondents and 6,162 companies in 32 markets worldwide, including 2,504 employees and job seekers in Malaysia.
