Kok: CPOPC ministerial meeting to discuss trade policy issues


Kok: We want the council to play an important role in ensuring the survivability of palm oil in the oils and fats market.

PUTRAJAYA: The sixth ministerial meeting of the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) next month will discuss among others, trade policy issues affecting members, sustainable production of the crop and activities towards strengthening cooperation in the industry, said Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok Suh Sim.

To be held on Feb 28 in Jakarta, she said the meeting would also discuss the development of smallholders in member countries, namely Malaysia, Indonesia and Colombia, which recently joined the grouping.
