MUFG picks Maybank's Chia to head Asean unit


Temporary anti-dumping measures on ethanolamine products produced in the Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and the United States is also being introduced.

HONG KONG: MUFG Bank has hired Chia Chin Lan from Maybank to head up its financial institutions group in Asean.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, she reports to Goh Kiat Seng, who was appointed head of global corporate banking for Malaysia at the end of last month, and Frederic Cabay, global co-head of FI for MUFG, who is based in Singapore. She started in her new job last Friday.

Chia, who was previously global head of FIG at Maybank, was one of three appointmentes in Malaysia announced by MUFG this week. The Japanese megabank also said that Goh, who joined from Standard Chartered last July as co-head of global corporate banking in Malaysia, had been appointed sole head.

The other previous co-head, Ravi Buchia, has been appointed head of the bank's branch in the Malaysian territory of Labuan. Both he and Goh assumed their new positions on December 21. - Reuters
