KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd
said on Friday that acting group chief executive officer Datuk Bazlan Osman has resigned effective immediately.
The company, in a filing with the stock exchange, said Bazlan has left to pursue other interests.
Bazlan, 54, was appointed to the post in June following the departure of Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly. He will remain as the company’s executive director until Feb 28, 2019 as part of a transition deal.
To fill up the vacancy at the top, TM has appointed current chief operating officer Imri Mokhtar to assume the role of acting group CEO with effect from Nov 16.
“The entire board, management and warga TM would like to record our heartfelt appreciation to Bazlan for his leadership and contribution to the group,” chairman Tan Sri Sulaiman Mahbob said in a statement.
“We particularly welcome and are grateful for his intention to remain and facilitate the leadership transition to Imri up to Feb 28, 2019.”
Imri,45, is a TM home-grown talent with a strong background in strategy and business operations, and is currently overseeing the business operations of TM Group.
