Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Thursday Aug 16


The benchmark palm oil contract for October delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange was down 1 percent at 2,191 ringgit ($537.80) a tonne at the end of the trading day. Trading volume stood at 49,614 lots of 25 tonnes each at the close of trade.

KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Thursday Aug 16.

FUNDAMENTALS

* Malaysian palm oil futures fell on Wednesday to their lowest in nearly two weeks in the second half of trade, tracking losses in U.S. soyoil and on weak export demand.
