Opcom bags RM11.16mil Unifi contract

PETALING JAYA: Opcom Holdings Bhd (Opcom), led chairman and CEO Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, said a subsidiary Opcom Cables Sdn Bhd was awarded RM11.16mil contract from Telekom Malaysia Bhd.

The contract, the company told Bursa Malaysia today, involved the provision of works and services as a ‘Rakan Unifi’ for a period of 18 months commencing from July 2, 2018  to Dec 31, 2019.

“The award is expected to contribute positively towards Opcom group’s earnings and net assets for the period of the award,” the company said.

The ‘Rakan Unifi’contract was awarded on May 14. Mokhzani's brother, Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, is the founder and a major shareholder of Opcom.

Shares in Opcom had surged 135% since May at Tuesday close of 94 sen.
