Malakoff signs MoU with Touch Meccanica to collaborate on energy projects

KUALA LUMPUR: Malakoff Corp Bhd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate with Touch Meccanica Sdn Bhd for several energy projects in Pahang. 

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Malakoff said it had entered into a MoU with Touch Meccanica to jointly secure, develop and implement several energy projects in Pahang, particularly a large scale solar photovoltaic and small hydro power projects.

“The collaboration is part of MCB’s efforts to expand its renewable energy projects in its investment portfolio,” Malakoff said. 

Malakoff will conduct the necessary assessment and feasibility study for the purpose of ascertaining the technical and commercial viability of the projects. 

It added that subject to the outcome of the said feasibility study being satisfactory to MCB, the parties may enter into a definitive agreement to formalise their collaboration.

“The MoU shall be effective and valid for a period of six months from the date of the MoU, with an option to extend for additional six months, or up to the date of the definitive agreement being entered into between the parties, whichever is earlier,” Malakoff said.
