ASNB declares 6-sen income distribution for ASW 2020 for FY17

Wahid says PNB is pleased that it is still able to deliver sustainable and competitive returns to ASW 2020 unit holders.

KUALA LUMPUR: Permodalan Nasional Bhd’s (PNB) unit, Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), has announced an income distribution of six sen a unit for its fixed fund, Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 (ASW 2020), for the financial year ending Aug 31, 2017.

In a statement on Wednesday, PNB said the total distribution of RM1.1bil would benefit over 870,000 unit holders who owned over 18.8 billion units in ASW 2020.

“PNB is pleased that it is still able to deliver sustainable and competitive returns to ASW 2020 unit holders despite the challenging market in the early part of the financial year,” said PNB group chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar.

During the financial under review, the fund expected a total gross income of RM1.38bil, out of which profit from the sale of shares was expected to contribute RM718.7mil, or 52%, and dividend income from investee companies to contribute RM459.8mil, or 33.3%, of total gross income.

The remaining RM203.5mil, or 14.7%, was derived from investments in sukuks/Islamic fixed deposits as well as interest income, PNB said.

It said all transactions for ASW 2020 had been suspended beginning Aug 26 until Sept 3, 2017 to facilitate the computation of income distribution.

“Unit holders can check and update their accounts through ASNB’s new portal myasnb.com.my or at any ASNB brances and agents nationwide starting Sept 4, 2017,” PNB said. - Bernama
