Petronas signs on Johor Port unit to operate Pengerang jetty

KUALA UMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s subsidiary PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn Bhd has signed on Johor Port Bhd’s unit to operate the Pengerang Integrated Complex’s (PIC) solid product jetty.

Petronas said on Friday that PRPC Utilities had signed an agreement with SPT Services Sdn Bhd to provide operating equipment and systems and also to manage the jetty’s operations and maintenance.

The jetty was designed as a tailor-made facility to manage the volume produced by PIC as well as to ensure the timely export of containerised polymer and sulphur to the market.

Apart from SPJ, the PIC also includes the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID), the Pengerang co-generation plant, an LNG re-gasification terminal, a raw water supply project, the Pengerang deep water terminal, as well as centralised and shared utilities and facilities.

The signing of the agreement was held at the Petronas Twin Towers. Present to sign the agreement were Petronas senior vice president and chairman of PRPC Utilities Dr Colin Wong Hee Huing and SPT Service director Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim.
