AirAsia buys additional 10% in Rokki

PETALING JAYA: Budget carrier AirAsia Bhd has acquired an additional 10% in multimedia and inflight entertainment company Rokki Sdn Bhd for RM2.5mil.

The 10% portion of the shares consisting of 120,000 shares was acquired from Sami Joseph El Hadery (96,000 shares) and Clarence Lim Kee Kiat (24,000 shares).

The transaction was satisfied in full in cash and will see AirAsia’s stake in Rokki increasing to 83%.

Rokki has two business segments – the trading of multimedia content and equipment; and the design and development together with the sale of inflight entertainment and communication systems and the sale of data for inflight use.

Following this, AirAsia said it would be able to enjoy an additional share of profits from the increased stake it has in Rokki.
