Mitrajaya bags RM183mil West Coast Expressway contract

KUALA LUMPUR: Mitrajaya Holdings Bhd has clinched a portion of the RM5.04bil West Coast Expressway (WCE) construction project, with a RM183.4mil contract to build the stretch from the South Klang Valley Expressway interchange to the Shah Alam Expressway interchange.

The construction and property development group said in a statement to Bursa Malaysia that its main construction arm, Pembinaan Mitrajaya Sdn Bhd, had accepted the deal from West Coast Expressway Sdn Bhd, the WCE concession holder, for the construction and completion of civil works for Section 2 of the expressway.

The contract is for a duration of 30 months starting from the date of site possession, which would be advised in due course.

“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the Mitrajaya Holdings Bhd group’s future earnings,” the company said.

Mitrajaya had targeted to achieve RM1bil worth of construction projects this year. The latest contract win should bring it close to achieving the figure.
